BLOEDEL JOURNAL

I am honored to be selected as a 2025 Bloedel Reserve Community Creative. This year-long fellowship allows me access to the beautiful 140-acre Reserve for my artistic pursuits, which will include photography, poetry, and more. It also affords me the opportunity to host art-based workshops for community well-being.

Bloedel Creative Project Week 1: Exploration.
January; two cars in the lot. I walk in the rain. Wander the grounds without choosing a route, hands cold inside my gloves. Winter-blooming shrubs touched with droplets, streams filled with rainfall, moss beds soaking in green.

Bloedel Creative Project Week 2: Recognition.

Ribs, sternum, spine. Our bodies are everywhere, all around us. I find comfort seeing variations of myself out in the world. How different are we really, from one another?

Bloedel Creative Project Week 3: Path.

See, know, and walk with clarity and bravery.

Bloedel Creative Project Week 4: Surface.

Where does the surface end, and become depth? How do we discover that transition point?

Bloedel Creative Project Week 5: Flow.

“I move with the clear-running stream,
formed slim and fine,
spun from old silver,
drawn deep from the earth.”
