ARTIST STATEMENT: INTERSECT SERIES
In the INTERSECT Series, my photographs explore fleeting connections between humanity, nature, and human-made objects. I am inspired by the universality and spontaneity of human beings, the immediacy of texture and movement, and the play of light on natural surfaces. I embrace the impermanence of each moment; my single-capture real-time photography uses no double images, enhancement, alteration nor retouching.
My figural art explores themes of identity and evanescence. I focus on personhood in motion without regard for age, race, ethnicity, and gender. To capture a momentary mood and the impermanence of light and movement are my goals. For viewers of my art, I offer an intimate, personal viewing experience and a moment of presence.
